Thyme

In my garden I grow the Lemon Thyme variety. Thyme can be used to treat various ailments. It is also useful in cooking. Some cultures add a sprig of fresh thyme to beans while they are cooking them. 

Thyme has antiseptic properties making it a great treatment when you are suffering from a sore throat. It aids digestion and is also helpful for those suffering from ulcers. This warming herb works on the upper respiratory track. It clears away the phlegm and alleviates many lung complaints. It is very simple to create an alleviating Thyme tea. Merely boil water and steep a teaspoon of the dried or a tablespoon of the fresh herb covered for 5 to 10 minutes. 

This herb is a perennial. It likes growing in sandy soil. It is a plant which needs a bit of space to grow. It grows best in a hot and sunny location. 

In the Middle Ages it was placed under pillows to prevent nightmares. This herb was also carried to give courage in battle.

Mint

Mint can easily take over your garden. This is a very hardy plant which you might want to grow in a container. The many uses of this plant certainly make it worthwhile to grow. I have some mint growing. It spreads like wild fire. There are many things you can use mint for. Mint tea is good for an upset stomach. 

Calendula

Calendula is more commonly known as Marigold. It is best to gather in the morning after the dew has dried away. This herb contains phosphorus and vitamin C. It is an astringent and stimulant. It helps produce sweat which makes a wonderful tea for people hoping to detoxify their bodies. The energy which this stimulating herb creates will help you get out and exercise.

Orris Root

Orris Root is also known as Queen Elizabeth Root. It is on the plant called Iris Florentina. This is a Moon plant. It digs deep into the subconscious to make us aware of what is buried in the recesses of our mind. It allows us to unearth that which is hidden beneath the surface. This root makes a valuable aid in divinatory and dream work. In Hoo Doo it is a love drawing herb. This association makes it a Venus herb according to some sources. The powdered form of the root can be blown onto the possessions of someone you wish to have fall in love with you.  

Oakmoss

Oakmoss is known as Evernia Prunastri in Latin. This herb is ruled by the element of Earth. It is suitable when doing magickal work with the goddess in her crone aspect. This is an appropriate herb to use in prosperity magick. You can add it to a witch jar with other money herbs to help you gain prosperity in your life. It is a moss which grows on an oak tree. It makes a good addition to a potpourri with a forest themed scent.

Basil

It is a great tonic for our nerves. We can also create a steam to inhale when we have a headache. There are many reasons to stock up on basil. It can enhance many dishes. When you are low on money it is very easy to eat a bit of oil and basil on pasta. This is an easy way to deal with a tight financial time.

Moon In Cancer

Gardening Under A Taurus Moon

Taurus governs the throat and neck in astrology. This sign is one of the more fruitful signs to plant under. It produces hardy herbs which are very strong.
